EAST HANOVER, N.J. – Sept. 10, 2001 — dynamicsoft Inc., a leading provider of carrier-class communications software for packet-based wireless and wireline networks, today announced that its products were utilized as the sole proxy server reference platform for the first public session initiation protocol (SIP) interoperability event, conducted by Miercom, a leading product testing center in Princeton, N.J.
Miercom’s public SIP interop event tested the performance and interoperability of SIP-based products from a dozen vendors as part of a weeklong series of call test scenarios performed July 9 to 13 at Miercom’s lab in Princeton. Results of the tests were published in the Aug. 27 “Convergence” issue of Network World, an award-winning weekly high-tech news magazine. Network World’s report, “VoIP Vendors Pass SIP Test,” and its test results are available at www.nwfusion.com/research/2001/0827feat.html.
The dynamicsoft Session Management Suite served as the reference proxy server for the entire Miercom test event. All successful SIP proxy server participants were required to demonstrate interoperability with the dynamicsoft proxy for both basic and advanced interoperability testing. Introduced in September, 2000, dynamicsoft’s award-winning Session Management Suite is an integrated suite of SIP-based products consisting of the dynamicsoft Proxy Server, the dynamicsoft Location Server and the dynamicsoft Firewall Control Proxy.
The Miercom/Network World testing relied on only two reference platforms: dynamicsoft’s Session Management Suite for proxy servers, and Pingtel’s xpressa SIP phone for SIP user agents. These products were chosen based on two criteria, said the Network World editors: “Our research showed that they were widely regarded as among the most mature SIP implementations of their type currently available; and interviews with other vendors and end users indicated that these products would be the most likely to interoperate with other vendors’ equipment.”
“The fact that Miercom and Network World chose dynamicsoft as the exclusive SIP proxy reference platform for this important SIP interop event underscores our position as the standard for SIP-based networks,” said Brian Allain, vice president of marketing at dynamicsoft. “Because our products and solutions are the most mature implementations of SIP-based products on the market, our customers enjoy the same high level of interoperability and performance as demonstrated in Miercom’s comprehensive testing scenarios.”
Miercom, founded in 1988, is an independent networking consultancy and product test center located in Princeton Junction, NJ. The company pioneered the comparative assessment of networking hardware and software, having developed methodologies for testing products from ATM switches to voice-over-IP equipment. Miercom is the Business Communications Review preferred lab called upon for Best-in-Test reviews, and is a proud member of the Network World Test Alliance. Miercom is the undisputed leader in the independent networking validation industry, and sets the standard for credible, competent, unbiased, and realistic testing.
